DVC is comprised of 100% Virginia leaf. The DVC stands for Dark Virginia Cavendish, and is Gawith, Hoggarth & Co.'s version of a 'black' cavendished tobacco, produced by heating Virginia leaf with lots of steam. The process removes much of the stronger nicotine elements in the leaf, which results in a medium-bodied smoke. The mixture is then topped with a light chocolate essence, which helps complement the natural tobacco flavors.
